Small Stash Enhancements

Three patterns made it to my stash in the past few weeks. I'm being really good and haven't splurge as I used to :-).

There are three new Stitcher's Revolution (by Colonial Patterns)! I ordered only two and may end up adding the third eventually. My favorite is the Spice of Life. From the Flower Power one I particularly like the design made of squares and rectangles on the left of the envelope, very cute! The third one is called Folksy Farm, that's the one I may end up adding to my stash, after seeing it stitched by Sew Incredibly Crazy on Flickr. She did a lovely job!

Finally, this cute Scotty DOW pattern also made it to my stash couple of months ago while Yesterday's Charm was having a sale. Not sure when I'll get to stitch any of these new additions but it sure feels good to have them handy for when the urge strikes ;-).

Not Bad!

Over the weekend I made a decent amount of progress on my two main projects, (not bad considering the circumstances). I was able to finish piecing 3 hexie flowers for the Spring Stitching Club and start on the Violet for Mom's quilt.

This week will be a hectic one, in fact my family and I will be working on an enriching goal through the month of April. Very busy times ahead,... and very exciting!

Rose

Thankfully I was able to finish the 1st block for my mom's quilt. As I previously mentioned, I am using Aunt Martha's no. 3813.

Do you think being tidy matters? I think my momma will approve of the back of this embroidered rose.

Now, which one will be next?

Spring Stitching Club

Not much free time since arriving home from our trip, but when insomnia strikes I like to stitch.

These two were fun to stitch, looking forward to embroidering the third, which is a bunny! I will love to be able to make some progress this weekend on everything on my "priority projects list", not sure if that will happen.

The crocuses had a make over,... that 1st color on this picture was not eye catching enough for me, so I switched to a nice bright blue -that strand I'm auditioning is the color I switched to- the one on the finished stitchery (first picture). Will update soon if I end up making a good amount of progress over the weekend. Until later!

Warm and Nice, Little Stitching.

While away I managed to stitch the last pattern of the Winter Stitching Club and re-start on block #1 for my mom's quilt. Didn't accomplish much. I meant to keep up with my WIP's, and was totally well packed and prepared as you can see in the picture below. Oh well, things don't always happen as plan.

The weather was so warm and nice, we were in good company, and there was good food... especially the delicious tropical fruits. We tried to enjoy our stay there as much as possible.

On our way back I started again on the first block for mom's quilt. It didn't feel right to stitch things that reminded me of her since the quilt it's not about me. Mom loved flowers, especially roses and orchids. She had a small rose garden and a few orchids but she found all flowers beautiful. Mom rather receive a flower plant as a gift than a bouquet of flowers. Mom will tell us that a flower plant will give her joy for years and that a bouquet will quickly wither.

So it made a lot of sense to stitch flowers for mom. I am using Aunt Martha's no. 3813 and most likely will add extra roses and a few orchids as well. I will eventually finish Mrs. Laundry Hen and she will become part of another future crafty project for the end of summer or the beginning of autumn ;-). More on that when the time comes!

Now back to reality,... and catch up with things around here.
Lots to do but I'm glad to be back home!
